Helen Francis CPA

Principal

Bachelor of Commerce – Professional Accounting (Macq) and Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)

Helen has been part of the TY Francis team since 2008, starting her career as a tax accountant after graduating from Macquarie University in 2012. Over the years, she has earned her CPA accreditation, Tax Agent license, and Public Practice Certificate from CPA Australia, demonstrating her deep commitment to professional excellence.

Specialising in SME advice and compliance, as well as complex individual tax matters, Helen has become a trusted advisor to her clients. Her long tenure at TY Francis has allowed her to build strong, lasting client relationships, which she sees as the foundation of her practice. She believes that clear communication and nurturing these relationships are key to driving success for both her clients and her firm.

Helen’s achievements have been recognized on a national scale, culminating with her being named Accountant of the Year in 2024 by the Institute of Financial Professionals in Australia. She was also among the top 10 finalists for Young Accountant of the Year in 2021 and more recently nominated as Accountant of the Year in the 2023 Women in Finance Awards, a nod she was particularly proud of being a young woman in business and being acutely aware of the challenges faced by females in the finance sector.

Outside of work, Helen enjoys binge-watching her favourite TV shows—currently Only Murders in the Building (is there anyone funnier than Martin Short?)—as well as spending time outdoors and making memories with her husband and their young daughter, Eleanor.
